Between 2007 and 2011 the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) undertook a national survey of the status of UK birds with both a wintering birds and a breeding birds survey. SBG was instrumental in organising the surveying throughout the county and incorporated a further year in 2012 to cover the final tetrads within the county that still needed surveying. The winter survey was carried out through the months of November to February and the breeding survey was from April to July. The results from the surveys can now be found online on the Suffolk Biodiversity Information Service (SBIS) web site – Suffolk Bird Atlas.
